Obligatory new layout post!
Okay, I’m super tired because I started this layout at ten in the morning and finished it at ten tonight, and although I obviously didn’t spend twelve hours straight working on it, anybody who’s done a major upgrade and revamping of their site will know the faaaaatiiiiigue I’m feeling right now.
So, if you’re reading this in your RSS alligator like a good little subscriber (<3), this is your cue to click out of it and read the rest of it here just for the sake of making my efforts seem worthy. I would include a “more” thingy to force the issue, but…I’m not in the mood. Fancy that.
Now that you are hopefully here: behold the new theme, which I find many times less embarrassing than the sky-blue-and-poo theme! It’s a lot more in line with my previous themes, anyway. I christen it Monotone, because it’s monochrome but I was too stupid to realize that monochrome was the word I wanted when I was describing it to Seth, and only after several hours did the word monochrome finally wander past the CSS daze in my head. I’m rather pleased with it, really; it’s fluid, and anybody with an 800×600 resolution is going to hate me forever, but I think I can sacrifice the 0.6% of visitors brought here by completely random means. 800×600 is the new 640×480, thank the gods. Now I can actually design things that fit my screen nicely. All I have to do now is hope that the dope with a 2000x[huge] resolution doesn’t browse fullscreen.
Despite the new look, we’ve yet to write a proper about page (we noticed a lot of you got excited when we switched to Cutline, ha), the archives are still difficult to navigate, and our links list is unorganized and still developing. All of this will hopefully be taken care of…before next year. That sounds like a good deadline, seeing as I have many other things that need to be taken care of before next year and it feels good to put at least a few of them off without feeling guilty/getting in trouble/messing up my life forever.
If you find anything broken or annoying (besides the archives/search, those are incredibly annoying and I hate them right now), please yell at me and I’ll try to fix it within the aforementioned timeframe. Otherwise, I demand that you shower me in compliments. kthxbai~

I swear ‘Valamity’ is animated. When I’m reading on the left, it appears to be moving on the right. It’s either an optical illusion or I’ve lost my marbles!

I’m just amazed by the logo on the right. When I’m reading the text on the sidebar, I could swear it’s moving! Was that intentional? Cause if it was, that’s neat! Heck, even if it was accidental, that’s awesome hehe. Love the layout. :)

Wow. Simplicity and complexity, all in one entity! This is absolutely beautiful. Makes me want to start to develop one again, especially since schooling is at a low for now. You’ve inspired me. I have but one qualm - The way the title of a post and its date mesh together seems a bit odd. The Valamity logo also appears to move when reading in the content area, and while I don’t find that particularly problematic, someone else might. Anyway, great job, and thanks for continuing to be an inspiration!
